Cove House Clearance

Cove is a small, secluded harbour hamlet reached by a tunnel cut through the cliffs, part of the wider Cockburnspath parish on the Berwickshire coast. We clear its cottages with the same care we'd want shown to our own.

The Story of Cove

Cove's harbour was built in the early nineteenth century for a fishing fleet that once numbered dozens of boats, and it is still reached today through a long tunnel hand-cut into the sandstone cliff — one of the more memorable approaches to any harbour in Scotland. The handful of cottages above the harbour housed fishing families for generations.

The hamlet sits within the parish of Cockburnspath, and its remoteness has kept it largely unchanged: a scatter of cottages, the working harbour below, and open farmland all around. When a clearance is needed here, it's usually a family home that has stood for decades, and we handle it at an unhurried, respectful pace.

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can you clear a house in Cove?

Most single-property clearances in Cove are completed within one to two days, depending on size and access.

Do you recycle or donate items instead of sending everything to landfill?

Yes. We sort every clearance for reuse, donation and recycling first, and only send genuine waste to landfill.

Can you clear a property before probate is granted?

We can carry out a full inventory and hold items securely, then complete the clearance once you have the legal go-ahead.

Is a house clearance in Cove disruptive for neighbours?

No. Our vehicles and teams are sized for narrow village streets, and we work quietly and tidily throughout.

Do I need to be present during the clearance?

Not necessarily. Many clients arrange access and a key, and we send photos before and after so you stay informed.

What items can’t you take?

We can remove almost everything, including furniture and appliances; a small number of hazardous items need separate licensed disposal, which we can arrange.
